Qualifications

  • Experience with semi-trailers or heavy vehicles required.
  • City & Guilds or NVQ in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent required.
  • HGV Class 1 driving licence preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out detailed inspections, servicing, and repairs on trailers.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults using EBS systems.
  • Complete all compliance documentation accurately.

Skills

Experience with semi-trailers or heavy vehicles
EBS diagnostics experience (Knorr Bremse, Haldex, WABCO)

Education

City & Guilds or NVQ in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent

Trailer Technician

Location: Newcastle
Salary: £36,000 per annum
OTE: £42,000 with overtime
Shift: Monday to Friday (Day Shift Only)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities of a Trailer Technician / HGV Trailer Technician
Carry out detailed inspections, servicing and repairs on trailers
Diagnose and resolve faults using EBS systems such as HALDEX, WABCO, and KNORR BREMSE
Complete all compliance documentation accurately and on time
Deliver high-quality work while meeting deadlines and service standards
Work safely and follow all health and safety procedures
Attend ongoing training including IRTEC, tail lift, and axle system courses

Skills and Qualifications for a Trailer Technician / HGV Trailer Technician

Essential
Experience with semi-trailers or heavy vehicles
City & Guilds or NVQ in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent

Desirable
HGV Class 1 driving licence
IRTEC accreditation
EBS diagnostics experience (Knorr Bremse, Haldex, WABCO)
Welding certification
Experience with BPW, SAF, JOST axle systems
Knowledge of tail lift, double deck, or lifting deck maintenance
