Qualifications

Job description

HGV / Trailer Mechanic

Derrys Ltd, established in 1979, is Ireland's leading manufacturer and wholesaler to the Furniture Industry. The role involves working on Derry’s own fleet of HGVs, trailers, and light commercials from our site in Annaghmore, with easy access to Junction 13 of the M1. The position reports to the Transport Manager to maintain vehicles to Derrys' high standards of roadworthiness and presentation.

Part Time

17-20 hours per week - Flexible days

£18-£25 per hour

The Role

• Vehicle inspection.
• Vehicle servicing.
• Vehicle defect diagnosis and repair.
• Preparation of vehicles for PSV.
• Inspections and sign-offs.
• Refurbishment of trailers.

The Person

The successful candidate will be Level 3 NVQ qualified OR have 3 years' experience in a similar working environment.

Previous experience of working with a varied commercial vehicle fleet, including trucks, trailers, and vans is essential.

Knowledge of electrics, electronics, and hydraulics would be an advantage.
