Job summary

Northumbrian Water Group is seeking an HGV C E (Class 1) Tipper Driver to transport materials between sites in the North East. The role requires a valid C E licence and knowledge of transport regulations. Successful candidates will uphold safety standards and deliver excellent service while operating a tipper vehicle.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a C E licence and valid driver tachograph card.
  • Knowledge of EU Drivers Hours rules and Working Time Regulations is essential.
  • Tipper experience preferred but training provided.

  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and compliance with DVSA requirements.

Job description

HGV C E (Class 1) Tipper Driver. Transporting raw cake product from our 5 internal sites across the North East to our treatment facilities at Bran Sands and Howdon.

About the role:

We’re looking for an HGV Driver (C E) with proven experience in transport legislation compliance, including driver’s hours regulations and the Working Time Directive, in line with ‘O’ licence legislation and company procedures.

You will maintain a clean and compliant vehicle, perform pre-use checks, and report defects to satisfy DVSA requirements. You will also be responsible for the safe and secure loading/unloading of tipper trailers, adhering to all NWL health and safety requirements, and contributing to our “Everyone Home Safe Everyday” policy.

About you:

You need a C E licence entitlement, a valid driver tachograph card, and Driver CPC. You should demonstrate good knowledge of EU Drivers Hours rules and Working Time Regulations.

Please note, the role involves working a rotational pattern (4/7) including days, nights, and weekends, so flexibility is essential. You may also be part of a standby rota, for which you will be compensated.

Tipper experience is preferred but not essential; training and support will be provided.
