HGV Driver Position - Timber Haulage

We are looking for an HGV driver to join our Timber haulage team, moving sawn trees from the forest to the Sawmill. The position is available from our Invergordon, Inverness, or Corpach depots. Shift patterns include Monday – Friday, Tuesday – Saturday, or Sunday to Thursday.

Pay and Benefits: We offer competitive rates: Basic rate of £13.96/hr, Overtime rate of £16.24/hr (paid after 8 hours), overnight subsistence of £29.01 per night, and loading allowance of £3.11 per load. The package includes an allocated truck and full PPE.

Main Responsibilities

• Deliver goods professionally and courteously
• Plan the most efficient truck-friendly routes
• Perform daily vehicle safety checks
• Comply with tachograph and working time laws
• Accurately capture all PODs

Working independently and as part of a team, you will:

• Drive HGV1 and other company vehicles as per license provisions
• Operate vehicles with attachments such as flatbeds, curtain siders, drop-sided trailers, low loaders, tanker trailers, forestry pin trailers
• Maintain and update training for driving both articulated and rigid vehicles
• Be available for training, which may occur on weekends and occasionally outside regular hours
• Load cargo carefully, including forestry products, round wood, fertiliser, concrete, steel, and paper, following company policies
• Ensure cargo is loaded safely and securely throughout transit
• Report issues promptly to management

Skills and Experience

• HGV Class 1 Licence with 2-4 years of experience preferred
• Driver Qualification Card
• First Aid Certificate (training provided if not held)
• Hi-ab Certificate (training provided if not held)
