Job description

HGV Technician

Day shifts

Salary circa £18 per hour - £40k plus overtime

Your future employer has been providing first-class solutions for many years. The standards set in the workshop significantly contribute to ensuring customer satisfaction.

We welcome applications from not yet qualified or time-served technicians.

You will carry out inspections on a varied and diverse fleet, including:

  • Main dealer heavy goods vehicles (HGVs)
  • Refuse collection vehicles
  • Road sweepers
  • Hook loaders
  • Light commercials (vans)
  • Trailers and tippers

The work may include, but is not limited to:

  • Routine and preventative maintenance
  • MOT preparation
  • Scheduled servicing to DVSA standards
  • 6 or 8 weekly inspections
  • Correction of running defects
  • Chassis and fabrication work
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Improvement of vehicle standards
  • Electrical and wiring inspections and repairs

We seek qualified and time-served Heavy Vehicle Technicians with a thorough understanding of commercial vehicle mechanics.

If you are looking for a company that invests in staff development, provides up-to-date product training, and supports accreditation attainment, then this company is worth your serious consideration.

Expect to work in a positive and vibrant environment where your efforts are recognized. A skills shortage can be addressed through upskilling, but the right attitude and desire to deliver first-class service cannot be trained.

Ideally, you will be fully qualified (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent). Additional certifications such as IRTEC or EV qualifications are desirable, as are HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licenses.
