Job summary

Tru Talent is seeking an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Trailer Technician to join a modern workshop in Swindon. You will service, repair and diagnose heavy vehicles, trailers and commercial fleet equipment in a busy, safety-focused environment.

The role offers 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday with day, late, or night shifts and an attractive hourly rate of £16.81. Manufacturer training and clear progression paths are provided for long-term career growth.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds or IMI qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
• Previous HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Trailer Technician experience.
• Experience with servicing, repairs and diagnostics.
• Knowledge of DVSA standards.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair HGVs, trailers and commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
• Complete inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Carry out repairs to DVSA and manufacturer standards.
• Assist with breakdown repairs when required.
• Complete job cards, warranty claims and workshop paperwork.
• Maintain a safe and professional workshop environment.
