Key Responsibilities:

As a Technical Trainer, you’ll use your HGV knowledge and workshop experience to deliver engaging technical training to technicians and dealer personnel.

• Develop and deliver technical training programmes for HGV and commercial vehicle systems
• Use your practical HGV experience to explain complex technical subjects clearly
• Deliver a mixture of classroom and practical-based training
• Support the training of technicians across the dealer network
• Assess delegate knowledge, performance and technical understanding
• Help develop and improve existing training programmes
• Keep up to date with new HGV technology, systems and repair techniques
• Work closely with internal teams and dealer personnel
• Travel to Nottingham throughout the year as required
• Attend two annual trips to the Netherlands
• Prepare and deliver presentations and practical training sessions

What we’re looking for:

We’re particularly interested in experienced HGV Technicians who are ready for a change from the workshop and want to share their knowledge with others.

• Strong experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician
• Solid knowledge of HGV systems, diagnostics, repair and maintenance
• Hands‑on workshop experience with modern commercial vehicles
• Confident explaining technical information to others
• A genuine interest in developing and supporting other technicians
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A willingness to learn and develop into a training role
• A flexible, team‑focused approach
• Full UK driving licence
• Passport for occasional European travel
• Previous training or teaching experience is beneficial but not essential
• DAF experience is advantageous but not essential

The role is based full‑time at the company’s site near Aylesbury, with occasional travel to Nottingham and Europe. Working hours are Monday to Thursday 8.45am–5.15pm, with a 4.45pm finish on Fridays.
