Job summary

AutoSkills (United Kingdom) in Lincoln is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join a professional commercial vehicle workshop on a long-term basis. The role features a structured rotating shift pattern, with early and late weeks and Saturday overtime.

You will diagnose and repair HGVs to DVSA standards, service vehicles, prepare for MOT testing, and work as part of a collaborative team. Relevant NVQ/City & Guilds qualification and hands-on maintenance experience are required.

Qualifications

Experience in HGV or commercial vehicle maintenance.
Strong mechanical and diagnostic fault-finding skills.
NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

Inspecting and repairing HGVs to DVSA standards.
Carrying out servicing and preventative maintenance.
Preparing and presenting vehicles for MOT testing.
Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using specialist diagnostic equipment.
Carrying out general mechanical and electrical repairs.
Attending off-site breakdowns when required.
Completing repair documentation and job sheets accurately.
Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
Working as part of a professional workshop team to minimise vehicle downtime.
