Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd in Reading is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join a family-owned commercial vehicle group on a purpose-built site. You will service, maintain, diagnose and repair heavy vehicles, with rotating shifts.

The role offers £45,000 basic per year with overtime and bonus opportunities, OT to £64,000+. A toolbox-ready environment, training and career progression towards senior technician levels are available.

Qualifications

• HGV or heavy vehicle maintenance qualification or proven workshop experience
• Experience with service, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs
• Own a well-stocked toolbox suitable for HGV duties

Responsibilities

• Carrying out routine servicing, inspections and maintenance on heavy commercial vehicles
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and technical faults using modern diagnostic equipment
• Completing repairs to manufacturer standards across HGV and commercial vehicle systems
• Supporting breakdown, roadside or rota requirements where applicable and maintaining high levels of customer service
