Job description

Salary: Up to £18.50 per hour, dependent on skill set.

Working Hours: Rotating shifts: 0600hrs to 1400hrs / 1400hrs to 2200hrs. Alternative Saturday 0700hrs to 1200hrs at time and a half.

Who Are You?

Do you hold a Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance? and have experience working on HGVs or completed an apprenticeship in the HGV industry? Do you enjoy getting hands dirty?

Knowledge and Skills: Excellent diagnostic skills, proven HGV Level 3 technical qualifications or relevant experience in vehicle repair and maintenance. A driving license (HGV Class 1 preferred but not essential).

Responsibilities:

• Carry out repairs according to manufacturer’s procedures safely and responsibly.
• Complete repairs using Volvo Standard Times and special tools where appropriate.
• Assist in fault diagnosis, adhere to warranty procedures, and complete warranty materials.
• Support Action Service Europe when required.
• Work with parts team to ensure correct replacement parts are fitted.
• Road test vehicles if holding an HGV license.
• Assist with roadside breakdowns.
• Accurately record job times, complete service sheets, and report vehicle defects.
• Maintain workshop facilities, equipment, and tools.
• Wear PPE when required.
• Support and mentor trainees and apprentices.
