Are you a skilled and motivated HGV Technician looking for a new challenge? Join our expert team at Volvo Trucks Enfield and take your career to the next level with one of the most respected names in the industry.

As an HGV Technician on our night shift team, you’ll be responsible for the maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of Volvo trucks to the highest standards. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge vehicle technology in a modern, well-equipped workshop.

What you will do

You’ll be expected to have technical and practical competency in the repair and maintenance of HGVs, and you must be able to communicate effectively at all levels, both written and verbal. Flexibility to adapt to new processes, develop new skills, and participate in training is essential. You should actively contribute to our team and be capable of developing or improving working processes.


We’ll need you to:

  • Ensure repairs are carried out according to manufacturer’s procedures, safely and responsibly.
  • Complete repairs in accordance with Volvo Standard Times using Volvo Special Tools where appropriate.
  • Assist in fault diagnosis.
  • Follow warranty procedures during repairs and warranty material upon completion.
  • Work with the Parts Team to ensure correct replacement parts are fitted.
  • Road test vehicles when required (if you hold an HGV licence).
  • Assist with roadside breakdowns.
  • Accurately complete job cards and adhere to company time recording procedures.
  • Complete service sheets as per Volvo instructions.
  • Report all vehicle defects to workshop controllers.
  • Maintain workshop facilities, equipment, and tools in a clean, tidy, and well-maintained condition.
  • Wear personal protective equipment when appropriate.
  • Support the development of young trainees and apprentices.
Who are you?

You’ll hold a City and Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or an equivalent qualification. An apprenticeship in the HGV industry or relevant experience in the commercial vehicle sector is required.

Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) and a general understanding of vehicle technology are preferred.
