Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role is essential.
• Level 3 training or time served technician preferred.
• Knowledge of working on a variety of vehicle brands is required.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintain DPD’s fleet of HGV vehicles.
• Conduct fault diagnostics and prepare for MOTs.
• Perform weekly/monthly vehicle checks.

Skills

Experience in Heavy Goods or Heavy Plant role

Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair

Understanding of mechanical and electrical repairs

Familiarity with Mercedes, DAF, Dennis, Volvo, Renault vehicles

Education

Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and highly motivatedHGV Workshop Technician / Mechanic to join our team of highly skilled technicians.

As the successful HGV Technician / Mechanic you will reportto the Vehicle Maintenance Unit Manager and be a key member of the team. Working in a time critical distribution environment, your key accountabilities will include;

• Servicing and maintaining DPD’s fleet of approximately 1500Mercedes Benztractor units and in 2700 trailers.
• Fault Diagnosticson vehicles
• MOT Preparationfor the vehicles
• Weekly/ monthly checks of HGV vehicles
• Mechanical and Electrical repairson vehicles
• Since November 2022 over 60% of our HGV Fleet use Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (HVO)

Qualifications

About You

As the successful candidate you will have had experience working within a similarHeavy GoodsorHeavy Plantrole, or have knowledge ofyellow goods repairs. Ideally you will be Level 3 trained inVehicle Maintenance and Repair or be a time served technician.

You will have knowledge of working onMercedes, DAF, Dennis, Volvo and Renaultvehicles.

You must demonstrate the core values of DPD's DNA – Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Caring and Accountability

It would be advantageous if you wereirtech licencequalified however this is not essential as we can provide further accreditation for this.

A LGV Class 1 DrivingLicence is desirable for this role but not essential.
