North West Trucks Limited is seeking a skilled HGV technician for our DAF Huyton site. You will service and repair HGV vehicles to high standards, using cutting-edge workshop facilities and a supportive team environment. You will diagnose defects, work within a professional team, and maintain thorough documentation of repair processes.

A valid license and Level 3 HV maintenance qualification or Irtec are preferred. A driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Experience as a qualified HGV technician.
• Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance qualification or equivalent.
• Irtec licence.

Responsibilities

• Perform servicing and repairs on HGV vehicles, adhering to DAF and industry quality standards.
• Diagnose defects to accurately identify and address mechanical issues.
• Collaborate effectively within a team to achieve operational goals.
• Demonstrate a proactive approach to solving technical problems and maintaining workflow.
• Communicate clearly with colleagues about repair processes and progress.
• Adhere to company/dealer processes, meet targets, and participate in training to develop skills.

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to join our respected and forward-thinking team at our DAF Huyton site.

In this vital role, you'll be responsible for maintaining and servicing our customers' vehicles to the highest standards, ensuring their businesses stay on the move. You’ll work with cutting-edge DAF trucks in a modern, fully equipped workshop, supported by a knowledgeable and welcoming team.

Shift Working Hours: Tuesday to Friday, 6.00 pm to 6.30 am, with a view to change to Monday to Thursday. i.e. 48 hours per week.

Salary: £19.50 to £22.00 per hour – Dependent on experience and qualifications

Other duties may be required of the post holder in addition to those listed above and below, to ensure that the requirements of the business are met at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform servicing and repairs on HGV vehicles, adhering to the rigorous quality standards established by DAF and the Commercial Motor Industry.

• Utilising your expertise in diagnosing defects to accurately identify and address mechanical issues.

• Collaborating effectively within a team of professionals, fostering cooperation to achieve operational goals.

• Demonstrating a positive and proactive approach when solving technical problems, contributing to the smooth workflow of the workshop.

• Communicating clearly and effectively with colleagues, ensuring seamless information documentation and exchange regarding repair processes and progress.

• Adhering to company and dealer processes and procedures, meet and exceed targets, proactively report any opportunities for improvement and actively participating in training to maintain and develop skills.

Ideally, we are looking for:

• A valid driver’s license and good driving record.

• HGV license would be advantageous but not essential.

• Experience as a qualified HGV technician.

• Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance qualification or equivalent.

• Irtec licence.
