Job summary

Volvo Trucks Ipswich is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join our world class truck team. You will service, maintain, and repair Volvo HGVs to the highest standards, using modern diagnostic equipment and following manufacturer guidelines.

The role includes rotating shifts, overtime at enhanced rates, and access to world-class training and development pathways. A 2000 signing bonus is available to direct applicants, with a clear path to career progression within Volvo Group.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified HGV Technician with City & Guilds/NVQ3 or equivalent.
• Experience with HGVs or commercial vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Team player with proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Carry out service, maintenance, and repair work on Volvo HGVs to high standards.
• Diagnose faults and repair using diagnostic equipment.
• Perform safety inspections, MOT prep, and routine maintenance.
• Maintain clean, organized working environment.

What you will bring to us?

• Fully qualified HGV Technician (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Experience working with HGVs or commercial vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• A team player with a proactive attitude.
• Valid UK driving licence (HGV licence desirable but not essential)

What you will be doing?

• Carry out service, maintenance, and repair work on Volvo HGVs to the highest standards.
• Diagnose and rectify vehicle faults using modern diagnostic equipment.
• Perform safety inspections, MOT preparations, and routine maintenance.
• Ensure all work is completed efficiently, safely, and in line with manufacturer standards.
• Maintain a clean and organised working environment
