Job summary

Volvo Group in the United Kingdom is recruiting a Light Vehicle Mechanic to join a fully funded 6‑month training programme that transitions you into an HGV Technician role. You’ll gain hands‑on workshop experience, with expert tuition at Volvo’s in‑house training facility and one week per month at the training centre, travel and accommodation fully paid.

During training you’ll work Monday to Friday, with pay of up to £19 per hour.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds / NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Light Vehicle Repair and Maintenance.
• Light vehicle experience on cars, vans, plant or motorbikes.
• IT literacy and ability to use workshop systems.
• Able to demonstrate LGV/Vehicle Technician experience or potential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections and MOT preparation.
• Perform diagnostics and fault finding on trucks and buses.
• Carry out repairs on engines, gearboxes, brakes and suspension.
• Learn to use Volvo’s in‑house systems and complete paperwork.
