Job summary

A leading company in Harlow is seeking an HGV Technician to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on their fleet of vehicles. The role requires NVQ level 3 qualifications and experience in HGV maintenance. You will ensure vehicles meet safety regulations and are roadworthy, while also maintaining detailed records of work carried out.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3, City & Guilds, Time Served or equivalent qualifications in HGV / PSV Maintenance.
• Full UK Driving licence.
• Previous HGV Technician experience.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing, repair and maintenance of the Fleet to highest DVSA standards.
• Prepare and present vehicles for MOT Inspection.
• Diagnose faults using various diagnostic tools.

Job description

Job Title: HGV Technician
Location: Harlow
Salary: 50,000 - 54,000 + Overtime at 1.5X

The HGV Technician will carry out maintenance, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on a range of company vehicles in line with company standards, safety regulations, and DVSA requirements. Ensure vehicles are roadworthy, compliant, and safe for operation.

What you'll do as the HGV Technician:

• Routine servicing, repair and maintenance of the Fleet to highest DVSA standards
• All round Technician covering Mechanical, Electrical
• Prepare and present vehicles for MOT Inspection
• Maintain detailed records of all work carried out, including parts used and time taken.
• Diagnose faults using various diagnostic tools including TEXA,Haldex etc.
• Perform thorough inspections, adjustments, and replacements of worn components
• Fully comply with all HS&E legislation and group policies.

What you'll need to be an HGV Technician:

• NVQ level 3, City & Guilds, Time Served or equivalent qualifications in HGV / PSV Maintenance
• Full UK Driving licence
• Previous HGV Technician experience
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Fully conversant with the safe operation of workshop equipment and the overhaul and repair of vehicle electrical systems.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
