Job summary

Brook Street in Portadown is seeking an experienced HGV Technician / Commercial Vehicle Mechanic to join the depot. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose faults, and repair engines, brakes, and electrical systems on trucks and trailers.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician or Commercial Vehicle Mechanic.
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills.
• Knowledge of truck and trailer maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMI) on trucks and trailers.
• Diagnosing electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical faults using manufacturer-level diagnostic equipment.
• Repairing and maintaining engines, gearboxes, braking systems (ABS/EBS), lighting systems, and more.
• Preparing vehicles for annual MOT testing.
• Attending roadside breakdowns and carrying out running repairs where required.
• Completing job cards, maintenance records, and safety documentation accurately.
• Maintaining high standards of workshop health and safety.
