Qualifications

  • Time-served HGV Technician or equivalent qualification required.
  • Experience working on trucks and associated vehicles.
  • Valid Driving License required.

Responsibilities

  • Fast and accurate diagnoses using diagnostic tools.
  • Maintain and repair vehicles independently.
  • Conduct inspections (MOT, tachographs).
  • Mentor less experienced technicians.
  • Perform final checks on completed work.

Skills

Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills

Overview

Job Title: HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter

Location: Brentwood

Salary: £18-£21ph

Shift: Monday to Friday - 7am to 4pm - Every other Sat, overtime available

Type: Permanent

We are looking for a HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter to join our client, a fast growing and busy workshop in Brentwood.

You will be working on a wide range of vehicles including Mercedes, IVECO, DAF, MAN, Volvo, Dennis Eagle and many more.

Responsibilities
  • You'll be responsible for fast and accurate diagnoses using diagnostic tools and for choosing the right repair techniques.
  • You'll work independently to maintain and repair vehicles and components.
  • You'll carry out a range of inspections (MOT, tachographs, etc.).
  • You'll provide support and daily mentoring for less experienced technicians.
  • You'll carry out final checks on work that has been completed.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Time-served HGV Technician or equivalent qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 preferred)
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Extensive experience in carrying out repairs and maintenance on trucks, components and associated vehicles
  • Familiarization with developments in the automotive industry
  • Valid Driving License
