Job summary

Kemp Recruitment Limited in Peterborough is seeking an experienced HGV Technician for a Monday to Friday day‑shift role. You will maintain and repair a fleet of HGVs and trailers, perform diagnostics, and prepare vehicles for MOT.

A minimum of 2 years’ HGV experience is required; NVQ/City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is expected; a Category C or C+E licence is desirable. You will also conduct DVSA‑standard safety inspections and assist with roadside breakdowns

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ HGV Technician experience.
• NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Strong knowledge of HGV mechanical and electrical systems.
• Confident using diagnostic equipment and reading technical manuals.
• Category C or C+E driving licence desirable.
• Reliable, motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and trailers
• Diagnose faults and complete defect repairs
• Prepare vehicles and trailers for annual MOT inspections
• Complete periodic safety inspections to DVSA standards
• Attend breakdowns and carry out roadside diagnostics and repairs when required
• Complete job cards and inspection paperwork accurately
• Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times
