Job description
Overview

HGV Technician - Communities - Fleet

Bridgend County Borough Council works in collaboration with South Wales Police to maintain its Fleet of up to 350 vehicles across the County of Bridgend. We are looking for a qualified Heavy Goods Vehicle Technician with a minimum of NVQ Level 3 to join our collaborative team based in our busy workshop located in the Bridgend area.

Work hours: 37 hours per week, 07:00 – 17:00. No weekend working unless paid as overtime when demands prevail.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain Bridgend County Borough Council’s Fleet of up to 350 vehicles across the County.
  • Operate in a busy workshop environment with tools, equipment, and PPE supplied on starting date.
  • Utilise state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to repair all aspects of vehicles and Council Equipment.
  • Engage in continual training to support the Council’s Zero Carbon vision for 2027.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Qualified Heavy Goods Vehicle Technician with a minimum of NVQ Level 3.
  • A valid driving licence is a requirement for this post (Category C).
  • A vetting check by South Wales Police is a requirement for this post.
  • A Health Surveillance assessment through our Occupational Health Service is a requirement for this post.
