£1,000 Joining Bonus, (Direct applicants only payable after 6 months)

Covering a rotating shift:-

  • Week 1: 0800hrs to 1630hrs
  • Week 2: 0900hrs to 1730hrs
  • Week 3: 1300hrs to 2130hrs

Who are you?

Do you hold a Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and have previous experience working on HGVs, or have you completed an apprenticeship in the HGV industry?

You’ll be expected to have technical and practical competency in the repair and maintenance of HGVs, and you must be able to communicate effectively at all levels, both written and verbal. You should be flexible enough to adapt to new processes and develop new skills when required, and participate in training and development activities. We also expect you to be an active member of our busy team while being competent enough to develop new working processes or enhance current ones.

What will you do?

As an HGV technician, you will join our Service & Workshop team at our Volvo Truck and Bus Centre, ensuring repairs are carried out according to Volvo's standards. Here at Volvo Truck and Bus, we are at the forefront of Electromobility, working on systems including alternative fuels such as LNG, hybrid, and full electric vehicles.

  • Servicing, maintenance & repairs on a range of HGVs
  • MOT preparation & inspections
  • Ensuring all work meets safety standards
