Job summary

Perfect Placement UK Ltd in Newport is recruiting a fully qualified HGV Technician to join the Service Department on a permanent basis with a 4 on 4 off shift. You will perform scheduled service, diagnose faults, and support the team while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, practical post-qualification experience, and the ability to work under pressure in a busy dealer environment. Domicile near Newport preferred.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified HGV Technician / Mechanic, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Practical hands-on experience post-qualification is highly desirable.
• Strong technical diagnostic and repair skills.
• Excellent team player with a committed work ethic.
• Ability to produce high-quality work under pressure.
• Living in or within reasonable commuting distance of Newport.
• Hold an active HGV driving licence is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform all scheduled service and maintenance work efficiently whilst maintaining the manufacturer's quality standards.
• Conduct comprehensive diagnosis and repairs of HGV malfunctions.
• Support workshop colleagues with technical issues and updates.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and health & safety standards.
• Document diagnoses, repairs, services, and safety inspections accurately.
• Contribute to customer retention by delivering professional service at all times.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship in a fast-paced workshop environment.
• Assist in supporting technical training and innovations within the team.
