Job summary

Trafford Park is seeking an experienced HGV Technician for a 4 on 4 off day shift at a well-established commercial vehicle specialist in Trafford Park. You will undertake maintenance, diagnose faults, and carry out repairs on various commercial vehicles and trailers.

Working hours are 06:00–18:00, four days on, four days off, averaging around 42 hours per week. The role offers strong earning potential, with £21.80 per hour and overtime increasing earnings to £60k+ including overtime.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (essential).
• Experience in diagnosis, servicing, maintenance and repair of commercial vehicles.
• Organised and methodical approach with attention to detail.
• Manufacturer training courses undertaken and knowledge of methods and data.
• Full, current UK driving licence; HGV licence preferred but not essential.
• Friendly, confident, and professional with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking maintenance and repair activities on commercial vehicles and trailers of all types.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out tests on vehicles.
• Effecting permanent and complete repairs.
• Completing paperwork relating to warranty, contract, and retail work.
• Carrying out preventative maintenance work to minimise unnecessary customer costs.
• Carrying out any other duties reasonably within your capabilities as instructed by your manager.
