Qualifications

  • Hold full industry qualifications and have served a recognised apprenticeship.
  • Detailed knowledge of Truck & Trailer Maintenance is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out thorough vehicle inspections in line with the 'O' licence requirements.
  • Perform repairs highlighted during inspections and general servicing.

Job description

HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter

Depot Location: York

Working Hours: £17 to £17.50 per hour
Week 1 = 7am - 16.30pm
Week 2 = 11am - 20.30pm (Saturday Morning 7am to 12 midday £25ph)

Contract Type: Full time / Permanent role

Financial Package: £43,000 to £45,000 Per Annum

Role Overview:
My client, a well-established business in the HGV Industry, is actively seeking to employ an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter on a rotating shift.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Carry out thorough vehicle inspections in line with the 'O' licence requirements
  2. Carry out any repairs required that have been highlighted on the initial inspection
  3. General Servicing and MOT preparation
  4. Fault finding & diagnostics
  5. Updating all required paperwork / databases

Minimum Requirements:
  1. Hold full industry qualifications and have served a recognised apprenticeship
  2. Have detailed knowledge and understanding of Truck & Trailer Maintenance
  3. A commercial licence would be a distinct advantage but isn't essential
  4. Knowledge of Hydraulic and Electrical systems, maintenance and repair
