Job summary

Biffa Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to maintain and repair our diverse fleet, from vans to 44t assets, with night shifts.

You will work 19:00–07:00 on a Mon-Thu pattern, with pay £20.59/hour plus night shift allowance and weekly tool allowance; overtime and call-out available. The role offers upskilling and career development within a leading waste management company.

Qualifications

• Fully skilled with Level 3 HGV/PSV apprenticeship or City & Guilds/NVQ qualification.
• Technician level.
• Must have a driving licence (car/van).
• HGV licence desirable.
• IRTEC qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair vehicles and waste handling equipment to DVSA and HSE standards.
• Carry out preventive servicing and inspections to meet operator's licence commitments.

HGV Technician

Shift: 19:00 – 07:00

Pattern: 4 nights, Monday – Thursday

Pay: £20.59 per hour + Night Shift Allowance + £10.00 per week Tool Allowance
Overtime & Call-Out: Available

Night Shift Allowance: Additional allowance applicable for working nights.

You will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of vehicles and waste management handling equipment to meet health and safety legislation and DVSA requirements.

You will also carry out scheduled preventative service and maintenance inspections to meet Biffa’s operator’s licence commitments. Our fleet ranges from light commercial vans all the way up to 44t articulated specialist assets, a real diverse fleet giving plenty of opportunity to learn and develop your existing technical knowledge.

We are looking for professionals that may have had the previous roles – PSV Mechanic, Heavy Goods Technician, Lorry Mechanic, LGV Technician, HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic.

If you are a skilled or semi-skilled Technician, we would still love to hear from you as we can offer upskilling and career development.

• Fully skilled having achieved a full level 3 HGV / PSV apprentice qualification/City and Guilds Qualification/NVQ Qualification.
• Technician level.
• Must have a minimum of a car/van driving licence.
• HGV licence desirable
• IRTEC Qualification desirable.
