Job summary

Biffa Waste - Trafford Park Depot is seeking an HGV Technician to maintain and repair vehicles and waste handling equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and DVSA requirements.

The role offers a joining bonus of £1,500, pay of £20.59 per hour plus shift allowance and a £10 weekly tool allowance, with overtime and call out available and clear development paths. Join a historic UK waste services group with a diverse fleet and ongoing upskilling opportunities.

Qualifications

• Fully skilled with Level 3 HGV/PSV apprenticeship or City & Guilds/NVQ.
• Must have a car/van driving licence; HGV licence desirable.
• IRTEC qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair vehicles and waste handling equipment to DVSA and health and safety laws.
• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance inspections to meet operator’s licence commitments.
• Work with a diverse fleet from vans to 44t articulated assets to learn and develop skills.

HGV Technician - Joining Bonus of £1,500 !!

Biffa Waste - Trafford Park Depot

Salary: £20.59p/h + Shift Allowance + £10.00 per week Tool Allowance

Hours 10.00am -19.30pm Monday – Friday Overtime & Call Out Available

You will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of vehicles and waste management handling equipment to meet health and safety legislation and DVSA requirements.

You will also carry out scheduled preventative service and maintenance inspections to meet Biffa’s operator’s licence commitments. Our fleet ranges from light commercial vans all the way up to 44t articulated specialist assets, a real diverse fleet giving plenty of opportunity to learn and develop your existing technical knowledge.

We are looking for professionals that may have had the previous roles – PSV Mechanic, Heavy Goods Technician, Lorry Mechanic, LGV Technician, HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic.

If you are a skilled or semi-skilled Technician, we would still love to hear from you as we can offer upskilling and career development.

• Fully skilled having achieved a full level 3 HGV / PSV apprentice qualification/City and Guilds Qualification/NVQ Qualification.
• Technician level.
• Must have a minimum of a car/van driving licence.
• HGV licence desirable
• IRTEC Qualification desirable.
