Qualifications

  • Proven experience in HGV diagnostics and repair.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and develop junior technicians.
  • Full UK Driving Licence is required.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out diagnostics, fault finding, and electrical repairs to a high standard.
  • Undertake timely repairs and maintenance of HGVs in line with manufacturer standards.

Job description
Overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly skilled Master Technician to join a busy and well-established HGV transport workshop in the Gloucester area. This role suits a hands-on technician with exceptional diagnostic ability, a passion for vehicle performance, and a drive to lead by example.

Youll be responsible for keeping a mixed fleet of heavy vehicles operating at the highest standards, carrying out complex diagnostics, and supporting the wider workshop team with technical guidance and training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out diagnostics, fault finding, and electrical repairs to a high standard
  • Undertake timely repairs and maintenance of HGVs in line with manufacturer standards
  • Provide technical support and training to other technicians
  • Perform 6-weekly vehicle inspections and ensure all defects are correctly rectified
  • Prepare vehicles for MOT to exceed required standards
  • Conduct mechanical and electrical repairs on commercial vehicles and specialist equipment
  • Ensure repairs and damage rectifications uphold brand and safety standards
Skills and Qualifications

Essential

  • Level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in HGV diagnostics and repair
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and develop junior technicians
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable

  • HGV Class 1 or 2 Licence
  • Experience working on mixed fleets or specialist vehicles
