Job summary

A leading truck maintenance company in Stockport is seeking an HGV Technician for a full-time, permanent role with rotating shifts. The successful candidate will perform vehicle inspections, conduct repairs, and undertake general servicing. Candidates should have full industry qualifications, experience in truck and trailer maintenance, and ideally hold a commercial licence. Offering a competitive salary between £48,000 and £50,000, plus overtime.

Qualifications

  • Hold full industry qualifications and have served a recognised apprenticeship.
  • Have detailed knowledge of Truck & Trailer Maintenance.
  • Commercial licence is a distinct advantage but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out thorough vehicle inspections in line with 'O' licence requirements.
  • Perform repairs highlighted during inspections.
  • General servicing and MOT preparation.
  • Update all required paperwork/databases.

HGV Technician

Depot Location: Stockport

Working Hours: 6am to 6pm & 6pm to 6am

4 on 4 off shift rotating days & nights

Contract Type: Full time / Permanent role

Financial Package: £48,000 to £50,000 plus OT


My client, a well-established Truck & Trailer maintenance business is actively seeking to employ an HGV Technician on a day & night rotating shift.

Working in an established team of HGV Technician you will be required to undertake the following;

·Carry out thorough vehicle inspections in line with the 'O' licence requirements
·Carry out any repairs required that have been highlighted on the initial inspection
·General Servicing and MOT preparation
·Fault finding & diagnostics
·Updating all required paperwork / databases

The successful HGV HGV Technician will have the following attributes;

·hold full industry qualifications and have served a recognised apprenticeship.
·Have detailed knowledge and understanding of Truck & Trailer Maintenance
·A commercial licence would be a distinct advantage for isn't essential
Knowledge of Hydraulic and Electrical systems, maintenance and repair
