Overview

HGV Technician - Reading, Berkshire

We're looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join our clients team near Reading. You'll be responsible for carrying out inspections, repairs, and MOTs across a varied fleet, making sure everything meets manufacturer standards and complies with legislation.

Responsibilities
  • Conducting thorough HGV inspections, servicing, repairs and warranty work.
  • Diagnosing faults and repairing hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Ensuring all service reports, paperwork, and electronic job sheets are completed accurately.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant workshop environment.
  • Completing all necessary training to keep your skills up to date.
  • Mentoring and supporting apprentice technicians.
  • Providing roadside assistance for breakdowns.
  • Offering occasional cover at other depots when required.
  • Carrying out any additional duties within your skills, as requested by management.
Qualifications
  • City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3, NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in HGV maintenance or 10+ years of proven hands-on HGV experience.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics and mechanical systems.
  • Good understanding of current health & safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-focused attitude.
