Job Overview

They are looking for a skilled HGV Technician to join their team in Livingston. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and servicing heavy goods vehicles and trailers.

Hours of work: 6pm – 6am (£45,477 – £21.71ph) OTE £52,000+

Overtime available at time and a half

Responsibilities

• Service, inspection, maintenance and repair of diverse fleet of vehicles and trailers
• Electrical, electronic, mechanical and hydraulic fault diagnosis, repair and installation
• Overhaul electrical equipment and components
• Setting and operating of machine tools and equipment
• Welding and metal working
• Department of Transport (MOT) testing preparation
• Parts ordering and stores management
• Support team members including Apprentice Technicians as required
• Accurately record time and detail of completed jobs
• Carry out inspection and repair of workshop equipment as directed
• Other work within normal grade/job skills as required
• Ad-hoc duties as required

Qualifications

• Qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Goods Maintenance or equivalent or proven experience as an HGV Technician or similar role in vehicle maintenance.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in using hand tools, power tools.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
