Job description

HGV Technician
Location: Glasgow
Salary: £19.59 per hour = £45,840
Hours: Mon-Thur/Weds -Sat rotation -6am-6pm
Shift: 45 Hours Per Week

About your new company

My client is a large independent HGV Maintenance company with several depots around Scotland. They have been established for over 60 years and are the leaders in bulk transport, constantly investing in their fleet to ensure the highest standards of working conditions. Their huge fleet consists of over 160 vehicles, over 500 trailers and tankers. Due to their continued success, they are now looking for a skilled HGV Technician to join their ever-growing team.

About your new HGV Technician role

You will carry out maintenance, repairs and modification work on the fleet of vehicles and trailers and provide technical support from fault analysis through to completion. You will provide technical work to the highest standards in line with strict health and safety requirements for equipment, machines and tools. You will also be required to undertake pre-MOT checks and any repairs that are required.

What the successful HGV Technician will have
  1. In-depth knowledge of commercial vehicles including tractor units and rigid commercial vehicles.
  2. HGV licence Class 1 (desirable but not essential).
  3. Industry recognised qualifications (NVQ or City & Guilds level 3 as an HGV Technician) in heavy vehicle service and maintenance.
