Job summary

Biffa Waste Services Glasgow Depot is seeking an HGV Technician to maintain and repair vehicles and waste handling equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and DVSA requirements. The role includes planned servicing, inspections, and working on a diverse fleet from vans to 44t articulated assets.

You should have a Level 3 HGV/PSV qualification or equivalent, a current driving licence, and ideally an HGV licence and IRTEC qualification.

Qualifications

• Full Level 3 HGV/PSV apprenticeship or City & Guilds/NVQ qualification.
• Technician level.
• Minimum of a car/van driving licence.
• HGV licence desirable.
• IRTEC qualification desirable.

Pay Rate: £20.59p/h + Shift Allowance
Shift Patterns: Early and Lates, Overtime & Call Out Available

Monday to Friday (45 hours per week)

You will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of vehicles and waste management handling equipment to meet health and safety legislation and DVSA requirements.

You will also carry out scheduled preventative service and maintenance inspections to meet Biffa’s operator’s licence commitments. Our fleet ranges from light commercial vans all the way up to 44t articulated specialist assets, a real diverse fleet giving plenty of opportunity to learn and develop your existing technical knowledge.

We are looking for professionals that may have had the previous roles – PSV Mechanic, Heavy Goods Technician, Lorry Mechanic, LGV Technician, HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic.

If you are a skilled or semi-skilled Technician, we would still love to hear from you as we can offer upskilling and career development.

• Fully skilled having achieved a full level 3 HGV / PSV apprentice qualification/City and Guilds Qualification/NVQ Qualification.
• Technician level.
• Must have a minimum of a car/van driving licence.
• HGV licence desirable
• IRTEC Qualification desirable.
