HGV Technician
Nuneaton, Coventry
£18.90 per hour


Alecto Recruitment is seeking a skilled and dedicated HGV Technician to join their clients dynamic team. As a key member of their workshop, you will play a crucial role in ensuring their fleet of trucks and vans are maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of trucks and vans in accordance with DVSA standards
  • Diagnose faults and resolve mechanical issues efficiently using advanced diagnostic tools
  • Ensure vehicles meet all DVSA standards and comply with health and safety regulations
  • Stay updated with the latest DVSA and product developments to maintain the highest level of expertise
  • Participate in ongoing training and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide support and guidance to apprentices
  • Follow instructions from the Shift Supervisor, Workshop Controller, or Dealer Point Manager

Shift Patterns:

  • Earlies: 06:00 - 15:30
  • Lates: 12:30 - 22:00
  • Alternate Saturdays: 08:00 - 12:00

Requirements:

  • Qualified HGV Technician (City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent in Commercial Vehicles)
  • Proven experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining LCVs and HGVs
  • Own set of tools (tooling allowance provided)
  • Valid, clean driving licence
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team

Desirable:

  • Experience working with Renault Trucks or Isuzu Trucks
  • Familiarity with My Check or similar diagnostic systems
