The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of HGVs and commercial vehicles. Qualifications

  • Proven experience working on HGV vehicles.
  • Experience with specialist vehicles is desirable but not essential.
  • Full HGV licence with DCPC is advantageous.

Overview

HGV Technician - Permanent Role

Location: Derby

Salary: £37,280 - £39,862 per annum (dependent on experience)

On-target earnings: Up to £42,000 (including standby, call-out, and bank holiday payments)

Hours: 37 hours/week, Monday-Friday, daytime with some flexibility

Responsibilities
  • Maintenance, repair, and diagnostics of HGVs and commercial vehicles
  • Work on electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Welding and fabrication tasks as required
  • Participation in an out-of-hours call-out standby rota, with competitive standby and call-out pay

There is also the opportunity to work overtime on bank holidays, allowing for additional earnings.

Candidate Requirements
  • City & Guilds Level 1, 2, and 3 (or equivalent NVQ) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
  • Proven experience working on HGV vehicles
  • Experience with specialist vehicles is desirable but not essential
  • Full HGV licence with DCPC is advantageous (training can be provided for the right candidate)
