Job summary

Questech Recruitment is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join a market leader in vehicle manufacturing in a brand new workshop.

The role is Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week (07:00–16:30) with no weekend or on-call requirements. Attractive salary up to £44k plus benefits such as healthcare, a 5% pension, and manufacturer training.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance.
• Proven experience in commercial vehicle repair and servicing.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Understanding of electronics, hydraulics, and wiring diagrams.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including overtime.
• Experience with electric vehicles, IRTEC qualification, or HGV Class 2 licence is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on chassis and mounted equipment.
• Service vehicles to VOSA standards and prepare them for MOT inspections.
• Complete body and chassis repairs and ensure compliance with Department of Transport specifications.
• Maintain accurate records and enter job details into company systems.
• Liaise professionally with customers and work independently at customer sites.
• Ensure all work is completed efficiently and to company standards.
• Follow health and safety procedures and conduct risk assessments where required.
• Undertake training to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

Commutable from Washington, Durham, Chester-Le-Street, Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland and surrounding areas.

This is a permanent position paying up to £44k

Questech Automotive Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for a skilled HGV Technician to join a market leader in vehicle manufacturing.

This is to work in a brand new Workshop where the business have invested in new equipment and facilities.

This would suit an experienced or appreciate training HGV Technician who is looking for a local permanent position.

This is a Monday to Friday position with no weekend working or on-call.

This role will be 45 hours per week | between 07:00 and 16:30 Monday to Friday.
