Job summary

Lanes Group Ltd is seeking a skilled HGV Tanker Driver to support the Anglian Water network on a field-based basis. The role involves surveying drainage systems, identifying defects and assisting maintenance and repair strategies.

This position offers day or night work patterns and requires a full UK driving licence with limited penalty points. You will operate high-pressure jetting equipment on HGVs, conduct inspections, complete digital reports and uphold safety standards across the job site.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 penalty points)
• HGV Class 2 Licence
• Desirable: Previous experience as a HGV Jetvac Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment on HGVs to clear blockages in drains, sewers and pipework.
• Diagnose drainage issues and apply jetting techniques based on blockage type.
• Communicate professionally with customers, explaining tasks and providing summaries.
• Accurately complete digital job reports and system updates using laptops or tablets.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance, reporting faults promptly.
• Maintain high health and safety standards with proper PPE and regulatory compliance.
• Support reactive and scheduled works, including emergency callouts and confined space entries (if trained).

Department:
Anglian Water delivers essential jetting, CCTV surveying, and tankering services. Operating across the whole of East Anglia, the team play a vital role in maintaining and protecting the wastewater network, ensuring reliable service for customers while supporting environmental compliance and operational efficiency.

Purpose of the role:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated HGV Tanker Driver to join our team working on the Anglian Water network. The role involves conducting surveys of drainage systems to assess conditions, identify defects and support maintenance and repair strategies. This is a field- based role, ideal for someone with experience in drainage inspection and a strong understanding of sewer networks.

Please note this role is available for either Day or Night work patterns.

Hourly Rate Days - Up to £18.85 per hour

Hourly Rate Nights - Up to £20.86 per hour

Key Responsibilities

Skills & Experience:

• Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment on HGVs to safely and effectively clear blockages in drains, sewers, and pipework.
• Diagnose drainage issues and apply suitable jetting techniques based on blockage type. Independently manage job sites, ensuring safe practices and high-quality work.
• Communicate professionally with customers, explaining tasks, addressing questions, and providing summaries.
• Accurately complete digital job reports and system updates using laptops or tablets.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance, reporting any faults promptly.
• Maintain high health and safety standards, including proper PPE use and regulatory compliance.
• Support reactive and scheduled works, including emergency callouts and confined space entries (if trained).

Desirable

• Previous experience as a HGV Jetvac Operator or in a similar role (Desirable)
• Willingness to work flexible hours and travel across the Anglian region
