Qualifications

Job description

HGV Specialist Waste Engineer

In this critical role, you will ensure our organisation is known for being the best in everything we do, leaving a legacy of absolute quality and compliance and keeping our promises at all times.

We operate 24/7, and as such, you are required to work flexible hours, weekends, and participate in an on-call rota. Full training, PPE, and use of company equipment will be provided to ensure that all our drainage engineers have the right tools, competency, and confidence to undertake the work to Lanes' high standard of operation, regardless of background or previous experience.

Position: Specialist Waste Engineer

Location: Crossness, South London

Job Type: Full-time

Hours: Monday to Friday, 50 hours

Salary: £18.00 per hour

About the Role:

Due to continued growth and development, we are looking for customer-focused people to join us, working to deliver real and effective solutions to waste-water network and drainage problems.

  1. Deliver customer service
  2. Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished
  3. Comply with health and safety responsibilities (i.e., PPE and safe site setups protecting Lanes Group employees, the public, and other road users)
  4. Utilise Big Change, Thames Water LMC, and Samsara platforms
  5. Provide support to your colleagues
  6. Conduct thorough inspections of tools, equipment, and plant before/after use
  7. Report any defects or malfunctions in regards to training
  8. Carry out risk assessments and have a mature approach to risk perception
  9. Maintain exceptional timekeeping whilst on site, keeping a log and reporting back to the planning department
  10. Always adhere to company health and safety practices and be aware of BSI Policies and your responsibilities towards them

About You:

The ideal candidate will have the following industry qualifications:
  1. HGV Class 2 Licence minimum
  2. Confined Space (Full Rescue)
  3. High Pressure Water Jetting Certificate (HPWJA)
  4. Streetworks Certificate
  5. National Water Hygiene
  6. JHL Training
  7. SHEA Water
  8. DISAB Training
