HGV Shunter Drivers Wanted for Port Operative Role

Join our dynamic team at Portsmouth International Port

We're looking for experienced HGV Shunter drivers to join our team as Port Operatives. If you have a passion for working in a fast-paced environment and enjoy operating heavy machinery, this could be the perfect role for you.

The Role

• As a Port Operative, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our port. You'll be responsible for:
• Safely and efficiently handling cargo during port operations
• Operating cargo handling plant and port infrastructure, including Forklift Trucks and Tug Masters
• Working as part of a team to support ferry and cruise handling operations
• Ensuring good housekeeping on the port

Training:

Successful candidates will undergo training specific to the Port and will receive on-the-job mentoring until deemed capable by the Berthing Masters. During training, salary will be 14.85 per hour, with a minimum of 3 hours guaranteed per shift.

About You

• HGV Class 1 license (or experience operating similar equipment)
• Experience in using Tug Masters and Forklift Trucks
• Full clean driving license
• Ability to work flexibly, including days, evenings, and weekends
