Job summary

Culina is recruiting an experienced HGV Class 1 Shunter for our Minworth operation. You will shunt vehicles and trailers in a busy yard, maintain safety checks and communicate with the Transport and Yard teams on night shifts.

Role requires a full C+E entitlement, in-date CPC and Tacho Card, with prior shunting experience. Shift is 4 on 4 off nights, with a base rate plus allowances for night and shift pay.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) entitlement
• In-date CPC and Tacho Card essential
• Previous shunting experience preferred
• Knowledge of driver hours and Road Transport Directive
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Capable of meeting tight deadlines
• Self-disciplined with strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Safely shunt vehicles and trailers around the yard.
• Position trailers in the correct areas per site instructions.
• Complete safety checks and report defects or incidents promptly.
• Use two-way radios to communicate with Transport and Yard teams.
• Support trailer temperature checks, fridge settings and fuel levels as required.
• Manage traffic flow in and out of the yard safely and efficiently.
• Liaise with other departments to support loading/unloading.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, hygiene and housekeeping.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced HGV Class 1 Shunter to join our team in Minworth. This is a great opportunity for a reliable and safety-focused driver who enjoys working in a fast-paced transport environment and takes pride in keeping yard operations moving efficiently.

Working on a 4 on 4 off night shift pattern, you will be responsible for shunting vehicles around the yard and supporting smooth trailer movements across the operation. There may also be some elements of driving off site, so applicants must hold the correct Class 1 licence and have all required driver documentation in date.

Shift:

• 4on 4off Nights - 18:00 - 06:00
• 18.74 per hour (Base rate of £16.49 plus Night Allowance of £1.25 and Shift Allowance of £1)

What You’ll Be Doing:

Qualifications

What we're looking for:

A Full C+E entitlement along with an in-date CPC and Tacho Card is essential for this position.

• Previous shunting experience.
• Knowledge of driver hours and road Transport Directive
• Experience of working in a very fast paced environment.
• Ability to work to challenging deadlines in a pressurised environment.
• Self-disciplined and motivated.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
