Job summary

CV Technical Limited in Hereford is seeking an experienced HGV/Plant Fitter to service and maintain a diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment.

You will diagnose faults, perform routine servicing, and carry out repairs on HGVs, telehandlers, excavators and other heavy plant, with a days-based shift.

This hands-on role offers long-term stability within a busy engineering team.

HGV / Plant Fitter

Location: Hereford Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 Shift: Days

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV / Plant Fitter to join a busy engineering and maintenance team in Hereford.

This is a varied, hands-on position suited to someone with strong mechanical experience across HGVs, heavy plant, agricultural machinery and mobile equipment.

The Role

You will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, inspection and repair of a wide range of vehicles and plant equipment, helping to keep the fleet operating safely and efficiently.

The role will involve working with machinery including:

• Telehandlers
• Forklifts
• Excavators
• Dumpers
• Diggers
• Tractors
• HGVs
• Other heavy plant and agricultural machinery

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on HGVs and plant
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults
• Complete servicing and preventative maintenance
• Fault-find and repair hydraulic and mechanical systems

About You

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Plant Fitter, HGV Technician, Agricultural Engineer, Heavy Vehicle Technician or similar.

You will ideally have:

• Strong mechanical maintenance and repair experience
• Experience working on heavy plant, HGVs or agricultural machinery
• Good knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical systems
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• A practical, hands-on approach
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team

Relevant qualifications are desirable but strong practical experience will also be considered.
