Job description

HGV Parts Assistant / Driver
Swindon

Our client, a commercial automotive business specialising in vehicle sales, repair and maintenance of commercial vehicles and trailers, is seeking a HGV Parts Assistant/ Driver to join their team.

The ideal candidate will be a key member of our operation and will be involved in duties such as delivering exceptional customer service to our customers, establishing customer needs for required parts through conversation, diagnosis and recommendations as appropriate, locating and ordering parts, and being fully conversant with procedures within the parts department.

Role: HGV Parts Assistant / Driver
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7.00am to 5.00pm or 8.00am to 6.00pm with ½ an hour unpaid lunch break. Every third Saturday 8.00am to 12noon
Location: Swindon

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Delivering exceptional customer service to our customers
  2. Establishing customer needs for required parts through conversation
  3. Diagnosis and recommendations as appropriate
  4. Locating and ordering parts
  5. Fully conversant with procedures within the parts department
  6. Delivering and collecting parts as required
  7. Receiving, recording and allocating parts and consumables from suppliers
  8. Communicating relevant promotions and offers to workshop control and customers
  9. Assisting with parts stock checks
  10. Reporting any stock damage or losses
  11. Returning parts to suppliers
  12. Delivery of parts to customers
  13. All parts are controlled by our dealer management system DMS.
Requirements:
  1. Be pro-active

  3. Excellent communication skills
  4. A willingness to learn and be engaged with training
  5. An interest in pursuing a career within our industry
  6. Experience in similar positions is an advantage.
  7. Full training will be given on our systems and processes.
  8. Driving Licence essential.
