Job description

Overview

This post assists the Senior HGV and Municipal Vehicle Technician in ensuring that the Council’s vehicle fleet is maintained to a high standard. The maintenance is undertaken in the Council’s vehicle workshop on the Salthill Industrial Estate, Clitheroe.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior HGV and Municipal Vehicle Technician to ensure the Council’s vehicle fleet is maintained to a high standard.
• Carry out maintenance in the Council’s vehicle workshop on the Salthill Industrial Estate, Clitheroe.
• Ensure vehicles are available for use as necessitated by the service, with a 37-hour week from Monday to Friday and flexibility to meet service needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience.
• LGV category C driving licence (essential).
• National Craft Certificate in HGV maintenance (or equivalent).
• FLT driving licence would be advantageous.

Working hours

37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with the flexibility to ensure vehicle availability as required by the service.
