HGV Mechanic

Location: Pontefract
Salary: £22.60 per hour
Shift: Monday to Friday Night Shift

Overtime paid at an enhanced rate.

About your new company

Our client is a large HGV maintenance company with depots across the UK. They uphold high standards and provide ongoing training and career progression opportunities. Due to their continued success, they are seeking a skilled HGV Mechanic to join their expanding team.

About your new HGV Mechanic role:

Working within a team of experienced HGV Mechanics on a mixed fleet of commercial vehicles, the successful candidate will undertake all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair, including:

  1. Vehicle inspections
  2. General servicing and pre-planned maintenance
  3. Reactive maintenance as required
  4. MOT preparation and presentation
  5. Correction of running defects
  6. General HGV mechanic duties
Requirements for the successful HGV Mechanic:
  • In-depth knowledge of HGVs and trailers
  • HGV Class 1 licence (desirable but not essential)
  • Industry-recognised qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3) in heavy vehicle service, maintenance, and repair
  • Previous experience as an HGV Mechanic
