Job summary

Farmfoods in Blairlinn, Cumbernauld, is hiring an HGV Mechanic for a full-time role (40 hours per week) within our vehicle maintenance unit.

You will maintain a fleet of Mercedes, Renault and Scania tractor units and multi-temperature trailers, perform inspections, repairs and testing, diagnose faults and prepare vehicles for MOT. A bi-weekly shift pattern applies, with one weekend in four on Saturdays and Sundays 8:00–16:30 and alternating rota days off.

Qualifications

• Level 3 City & Guilds Maintenance of Heavy Goods Vehicles (or equivalent).
• Diagnostic equipment and fault tracing resulting in first time repair.
• MOT preparation.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining their fleet of vehicles and trailers which consists of Mercedes, Renault and Scania tractor units along with a variety of multi-temperature trailers, curtain sliders and box trailers.
• Carrying out inspections, repairs and testing.
• Diagnosing faults.

Job description

HGV Mechanic, Full time 40 hours per week.

Based in our vehicle maintence unit (VMU) at our depot in Blairlinn, Cumbernauld.

Within this role you will recieve £22.61 per hour.

The Shift Pattern available will be bi-weekly:

• Week 1 = Monday to Friday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
• Week 2 = Monday to Friday: 10:00am - 6:30pm

Please note that within this role you will be required to work one out of four weekends from 8:00am to 4:30pm on Saturday and Sunday, with alternate rota days off.

In addition if you have experience in any of the following please let them know in your application:

• LOLER experience and tail lift repair (desirable)
• Multi temperature trailers and fridge repairs (desirable)
• CE licence (desirable)
