Job description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Reigate and Bansteadto assist with the appointment of aHGV Mechanic, on a 2-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £14.32 - £18.68 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • To carry out repair and maintenance services to the councils fleet of vehicles, plant and associated equipment, including our Grounds Maintenance equipment.
  • To ensure that all maintenance and repair work is carried out to a high standard and that vehicles comply with DVSA standards and in accordance with the terms of the Councils Operators Licence at all times.
  • To carry out necessary diagnostic work and specialist repairs where possible.
  • To attend roadside breakdowns and recover vehicles if repairs are not possible.
  • To ensure that maximum vehicle availability is always maintained.
  • To ensure that all relevant administration work is completed in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • City & Guilds Vehicle Mechanic Qualification or equivalent qualification and experience in discipline

Essentials:

  • HGV Driving Licence (Cat C)
  • Basic standard in English & Maths

Please note:

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
