Job summary

A leading Waste Management firm in Leicester is seeking a skilled HGV Mechanic to join their team. You will be responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled repairs on a diverse fleet of RORO, Artic, and Rigid HGVs. Ideal candidates should have a relevant engineering qualification, good fault diagnosis skills, and basic hydraulic knowledge. The position offers a salary between £46,000 and £50,000 with overtime and training opportunities.

HGV Mechanic Job Overview

Our client are a leading Waste Management firm that have UK and European wide coverage. Due to expansion they are actively looking for a skilled HGV Mechanic to join their team. You will be working within a small team of HGV technicians. You'll work on a modern and diverse fleet of RORO, Artic & Rigid HGV's and Trailers.

  • Carry out both scheduled, servicing, inspections, Pre-MOT inspections and unscheduled repairs to a high standard
  • MOT Presentation
  • Fault diagnosis
  • Welding and fabricating
  • Attend internal and external training
  • Complete all paperwork in a timely and accurate manner
Job Requirements
  • Relevant engineering qualification (preferably within the motor transport sector).
  • Ability to diagnose and rectify faults
  • Basic hydraulic knowledge
  • Good health and safety awareness
  • Must be able to work under their own initiative with a flexible approach to meeting the needs of the customer (internal)
