Location: Nottinghamshire

Salary: GBP40,000 - GBP50,000 per year

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (alternating shifts: 06:00 - 14:00 / 14:00 - 22:00)

A well-established commercial vehicle workshop in Newark is looking for an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician / Comercial Vehicle Mechanic to join their team. This role involves carrying out servicing, repairs, and diagnostics on a range of HGVs and trailers to MOT standard, working across a rotating early and late shift pattern.

Key Responsibilities for HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician / Comercial Vehicle Mechanic:

  • Carry out routine maintenance and repairs to VOSA standards
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults
  • Attend roadside breakdowns and customer sites as needed
  • Work closely with the parts department to ensure parts availability
  • Accurately complete job cards and service documentation
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop environment
  • Stay up to date with technical training and product knowledge

Requirements for HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician / Comercial Vehicle Mechanic:

  • Previous experience as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician / Comercial Vehicle Mechanic
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
  • Strong diagnostic skills and understanding of workshop procedures
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

  • LGV/HGV licence and/or ADR qualification
  • Customer-focused with a proactive approach to fault-finding and repairs
