Job description

Job Title: HGV Mechanic
Location: Newbridge
Salary: £40,000 + Benefits
Working Hours: Monday to Friday - 7.30 - 4 PM (Flexible)

About Us

We are seeking an HGV Mechanic or Transport Maintenance Engineer who will carry out daily maintenance tasks and repairs on HGVs and other vehicles. Your efforts will be key in helping the drivers' team and ensuring a smooth and efficient operations environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform repairs to meet Operator Licence standards, manage defect repairs promptly, and carry out mechanical and electrical tasks to ensure vehicle safety and availability.
  2. Fabricate and replace hydraulic hoses, weld and refurbish containers, and repaint and apply company graphics to maintain fleet and equipment standards.
  3. Collaborate with third-party engineers for maintenance support and assist in preparing vehicles for disposal.
  4. Order necessary parts and consumables while monitoring and addressing daily vehicle defect reports to minimise downtime.
About You

The ideal candidate will have experience within HGV Maintenance and Repairs and the ability to work autonomously.

Qualifications & Experience:
  1. Full UK driver's licence.
  2. Experience in mechanical and electrical repairs of HGVs.
  3. Strong ability to work independently and prioritise tasks.
  4. Qualified by experience or have a relevant qualification.
