Job description

My client is a leading warehousing and distribution company with sites across the UK, serving primarily the UK FMCG market. With a turnover of around GBP 60m, they are aiming for growth and plan to reach GBP 100m in the next few years through organic growth and acquisitions.

Having recently invested in a purpose-built VMU, they are looking to recruit two new HGV Technicians to join their team on a 4on/4off shift pattern.

Role Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Ensure that all vehicles are MOT prepared within operating licence timescales.
2. Ensure that all vehicles are serviced on time and in full.
3. Carry out all inspections on time and in full.
4. Complete all repairs promptly and thoroughly.
5. Meet all timescales in line with DVSA and Operator's Licence requirements.
6. Complete relevant paperwork to comply with health, safety, and food safety standards, and to track the service provided.
7. Provide excellent customer service with a proactive attitude.
8. Operate relevant MHE (if applicable/authorized) safely and according to procedures.
9. Report any accidents promptly in accordance with Buffaload Logistics accident reporting procedures.
10. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the Uniform Guidelines and Health and Safety Policy.
11. Promote a positive health and safety culture through individual actions.
12. Ensure all work is recorded in electronic or paper formats to maintain a full audit trail for inspections.

Ideally, candidates will have 3+ years of experience in a similar HGV Technician or Mechanic role, with qualifications such as IRTEC, C&G Vehicle Maintenance, or HGV Technician Level 2-3. A strong knowledge of various OEMs is required, and some knowledge of refrigerated trailers is preferred.
