Job Opportunity: HGV Mechanic
?? Location: Bury
?? Salary: £16–£19 per hour
?? Hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Monday to Friday)

We’re looking for an experienced and dependable HGV Mechanic to join a well-established and respected family-run transport and waste management business based in Bury. With decades of operation under its belt, this company is known for maintaining a large fleet of HGVs and specialist vehicles, delivering essential services across the North West.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Conduct routine servicing, inspections, and repairs on a wide range of HGVs and trailers

• Diagnose mechanical faults and perform efficient, high-quality fixes

• Ensure compliance with DVSA standards and maintain detailed service records

• Carry out MOT preparation and safety checks

• Respond to on-site breakdowns if needed (within working hours)

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic or similar role

• NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) preferred

• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills

• A proactive, hands-on attitude and ability to work independently

• A valid UK driving licence (HGV Class 1 or 2 a plus)
